Lip Piercings

A lip piercing is a type of body piercing that penetrates the lips or the area surrounding the lips, which can be pierced in a variety of ways. Initial jewelry used for lip piercings are labret stud or cbr's. It usually takes about 1-3 months for it to heal.
Soaking the wound for three to five minutes with a weak saline solution softens any blood and lymph discharge attached to the jewelry. Using a cotton swab (cotton buds) removes excess matter from the site. Afterward, one should slowly turn the jewelry through the piercing, rinse with saline solution to flush the inside of the wound and remove any matter remaining in and around the piercing. Diluted mouthwash can also be used after meals to help remove debris and flush the piercing and is recommended by some practitioners.
Lip piercings can be placed anywhere around the mouth, but the surface of the lip is not typically pierced itself, except for horizontal lip piercings and canine bites. Piercings in specific positions have certain names. The Monroe.

Titanium Rings

Titanium Rings

1. Hardness - Both titanium and tungsten carbide are considerably harder than precious metals like gold and platinum. However, tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials in existence and substantially harder than titanium, registering a 9 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness (compared to titanium’s score of 6).
2. Scratch-resistance - Due to its hardness tungsten carbide handily beats titanium when it comes to scratch-resistance, though titanium is still considerably more scratch-resistant than other popular materials. There are virtually no materials other than a diamond that can scratch tungsten carbide.
3. Weight - Titanium is lighter than tungsten, or more precisely, has a lower density. Titanium alloys are about 43% lighter than stainless steel and tungsten carbide is about 90% heavier than stainless steel.
4. Price - Titanium jewelry is in general cheaper than tungsten jewelry primarily due to the difference in equipment and environment control need to produce them. The temperature for forming a tungsten carbide is about 6000 Fahrenheit, which has to be in either a vacuum or hydrogen environment.
5.Engraving & Resizing - Titanium can be engraved and resized. However, a Tungsten is too hard to be engraved or resized. Although engraving can be done, the letters will be very faint and difficult to read.

Tragus Piercings

A tragus piercing is the perforation of the tragus which projects immediately in front of the ear canal, for the purpose of inserting and wearing a piece of jewelry. The piercing itself is usually made with a small gauge hollow piercing needle, and typical jewelry would be a small diameter cbr or small gauge post style piercing jewelry.

How to open Segment/CBR Rings

How do i open segment rings?! Why wont it open?
The ball of a BCR or segment of a bar closure ring is held in place by the tension of the ring; there is a dimple on either side for the ring to clip into. To remove the ball or segment, you must push it out of the ring - it does not unscrew. The best place to do this is over a sink with the plug pushed in, just in case you drop a piece.
To make this easier, we would advise the use of Ring Opening Pliers (or similar tool), especially for larger gauge jewellery as it is a lot tougher.
To fit the ball, line one dimple on the ball up with one side of the ring. Hold the ring firmly and push so that the other dimple clips into place. If the ring is too tight to clip your ball or segment into, the Ring Opening Pliers will make this process easier as you will need to expand the ring slightly.

Types of Nose Piercing

Septum piercings are named after the part of the nose where they're located. Your septum is a thin wall of cartilage that runs down the center of your nose, separating your right and left nostrils. A septum piercing, however, does not penetrate the cartilage but the softer space of tissue just below the septum. Piercers often refer to this as the "sweet spot." Circular horseshoes is a very popular type of jewelry used for septum piercings.
A bridge piercing is a facial piercing through the skin on the bridge of the nose, usually directly between the eyes of the wearer. A variation on this piercing, the vertical bridge piercing is a surface piercing, with all of the risks or potential complications related to surface piercings.
The risk of rejection is quite high for this piercing, as it is a surface piercing. There is also a high risk of scarring when the jewellery is removed. Straight barbell is used in this particular piercing.

Those are 2 of the many type of nose piercings you can get. Vertical Nose Tip piercing, Nasallang, High nostril are the other type of nose piercings. You can shop for body jewelry for the specific type of nose piercings.

Keeping your Body Jewelry Like New

Everyone is wondering is it safe to clean 316L Stainless Steel plugs, navel rings, or any body jewelry with alcohol? The answer is NO, you should stay away from alcohol or hydrogen peroxide because they can damage, discolor, scratch or even crack the materials of your jewelry. Some will say its fine, they work fine for me, but eventually that jewelry will be no use in the long run. To clean your jewelry i would recommend warm water and antibacterial soap.
